BROOKFIELD — The victim of a fatal collision between a car and train in Brookfield has been identified as a 70-year-old Brookfield man.
Michael Hayden was headed northbound on Brookfield Road when railroad crossing arms were brought down for an incoming Amtrak train, police say.
A witness said Hayden went around vehicles that were halted and entered the crossing arms when he was struck by the westbound train.
Investigations show the man's vehicle did not come to a stop while attempting to cross the tracks.
Brookfield Police said the man died at the scene.
