MILWAUKEE -- Former Vice President Joe Biden was in Milwaukee Sunday as part of his “Promise Me, Dad - A year of Hope, Hardship and Purpose.” Biden appeared before an audience at The Riverside Theater, a conversation moderated by Former Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle.

The book focuses heavily on the year when Biden was Vice President dealing with his sons failing health. Cancer eventually took the life of Beau Biden and the vice president has said it weighed heavily on his decision not to run for president in 2016.

Doyle told TODAY’S TMJ4 before the event he expected the conversation to focus on a message the vice president carried throughout his book. “He has a pretty simple message I know you won’t believe this its does get better” said Doyle.

The former governor said he knew the question on most people’s mind was if Biden would consider a run for president in 2020. Doyle said “you know how this goes you’ll ask the question and he’ll say he doesn’t rule anything out.”

Biden has said in the past that he hasn’t ruled out a possible run for president in 2020, when he’ll be 77 years old.
