CUDAHY -- Thousands of dollars worth of damage have been discovered at two popular parks.

Cudahy Police are asking for the public's help to find whoever is responsible for covering playgrounds, and a statue. in graffiti.

Vandals left their mark on the playgrounds at Cudahy and Pulaski Parks - tagging a building 6 times, and spraypainting a statue and pieces of playground equipment.

"Maybe it was just teenagers letting off steam and just being stupid,” said Ben Lang.

Police say it happened sometime from Thursday night to Friday afternoon. The writing doesn't make sense.

"We haven't seen that specific word here in Cudahy,” says Cudahy Police PIO Melissa Mueller. “We can't speculate on what it exactly means or if it's a name."

One thing that's already been named - is a price for cleanup.

"The money has to come from somewhere. And that's just difficult. Where does the money come from?" says Ben Lang.

Taxpayers will have to foot the bill, and pay for a crime they didn't commit.

"We contacted the Milwaukee Co. Parks,” says Mueller. “They're estimating the damage at $2,000. That's with the special equipment they have to bring in.”

Cleanup crews are expected to be out there on Monday.
