The Washington County Sheriff's Department has announced the victims in a deadly crash that occurred Tuesday near the Town of Polk.
66-year-old James Debny and 55-year-old Daniel Luedke were not wearing seat belts when they were ejected from a vehicle after crashing on I-41 northbound between Hwy 60 and Hwy 144 Tuesday night, officials said.
When first responders arrived on scene, they discovered a passenger in the roadway and another in a nearby ditch.
Deputies attempted life-saving efforts on scene before one occupant was pronounced dead. Flight for Life was requested for the other passenger who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, authorities said.
