RACINE -- Someone at the Racine Zoo is celebrating a birthday!

Cadeau (meaning "gift" in French), the zoo’s female emperor tamarin, will turn one on Wednesday.

Emperor tamarins are known for their signature long mustaches and weigh approximately one pound. In the wild, they are found within the southwestern Amazon region -- mainly in Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.

The zoo staff is planning a party for Cadeau from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and it is open to the public.

Cupcakes and hot chocolate will be served. There will also be tamarin-themed crafts and activities, plus animal chats about Cadeau at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
