Drinking and driving is bad enough, but authorities say two Wisconsin men took it to another level over the weekend — drinking, driving and playing Pokemon Go.

Dane County Sheriff’s Office officials say two vehicle crashes early Saturday were linked to individuals who admitted to playing Pokemon Go while driving.

  • According to Channel3000.com, a 25-year-old Madison man failed to negotiate a curve in the town of Verona and hit a pole at about 2:30 a.m.

    He was cited for first-offense operating while intoxicated, inattentive driving and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

  • Also in Verona and a few hours later, a 26-year-old man drove off the road and hit a tree.

    The car burst into flames but the driver was able to get out. He was cited for first-offense operating while intoxicated, not having insurance and operating left of center.

    Dane County officials are reminding drivers to pay attention to the road.
