Two people were airlifted to trauma centers with life-threatening injuries after a crash in rural Racine County on Thursday.

A Ford pickup ran a stop sign at the corner of English Settlement Avenue and Durand Avenue in the Town of Burlington just before 9:15 p.m., according to the Racine County Sheriff's Office.

A Chrysler Town & Country hit the pickup, trapping the passengers inside, authorities said.

Flight for Life airlifted the occupants of the involved vehicles to Froedtert Hospital.

While responding to the incident, Flight for Life said a drone was hovering dangerously close to the rescue operation. Representatives reminded residents to keep drones away from their helicopters while on scene.

The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted the Racine County Sheriff's office with reconstructing the accident.
