Two people were killed in a Sheboygan County car accident Wednesday evening.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Highway 57 and County Road FF in the Town of Rhine.
A vehicle traveling eastbound on County Road FF ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle traveling northbound on State Highway 57, according to the preliminarily investigation by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department.

The two killed were in the eastbound vehicle. Sheriff’s deputies say a 79-year-old female passenger was already dead when they arrived to the scene. The 80-year-old driver was found trapped inside and later died while being transported to the hospital. Both were from Elkhart Lake.

A 72-year-old woman was the only occupant in the northbound vehicle and suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries.
