WAYNE CITY, ILL. — Two Illinois state troopers and an Illinois woman barely escaped with their lives after an out-of-control box truck nearly hit them.
On Tuesday, the two state troopers were changing a tire on a vehicle on interstate 64 when a box truck came skidding towards them and was inches away from hitting them. There was a woman on the side of the road with the troopers when the truck slid off the road.
The troopers started yelling and pulled the woman out of the way, and by the time the truck reached them, the woman was in the ditch. According to Illinois State Police, the truck "literally passed over the top of her."
The woman was treated and released from a local hospital and the two troopers were not injured. The police are now calling this crash a "miracle on ice."
