Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church selected a place to temporarily hold service Thursday.

They will meet at MATC in auditorium C at 10 a.m.

That is only for this Sunday. The decision came Thursday night as church leaders met at the Lutheran Church’s district headquarters to talk about Trinity’s future.

“We did have a little conversation about the future and the future is 9th,” said Rev. Jonah Burakowski.

That is 9th Street where Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church stands now. The roof is collapsed in and the building mainly ashes and a shell of walls.

The church says they still need to figure out a temporary permanent location. That could likely be a nearby Episcopal Church.

And leaders said they still do not have a decision on what will become of the church itself.

“We have received a condemned notice from the city of Milwaukee. We have not received a raze notice. So it will continue to stand,” said Burakowski.

The church is bringing in engineers to decide what can be done with the building remains.
