APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) -- A person who tested positive with COVID-19 coronavirus traveled through Appleton International Airport last week.
According to Outagamie County Public Health, the traveler was at the airport the morning of March 9th.
The patient has been isolated and O.C.P.H. has reached out to those who may have come in close contact with the patient.
“We take health concerns seriously and follow the guidance provided by public health officials at the federal, state, and local levels,” said Abe Weber, the Airport Director. "Travelers and airport employees should be aware that we are taking all the precautionary steps necessary to ensure a safe environment in our airport.”
Airport officials are now taking extra cleaning measures throughout the airport to help prevent possible exposure to other travelers.
