Driver killed in overnight Waukesha County crash after car strikes tree, starts on fire

TOWN OF LISBON – One person is dead after their car crashed into a tree and started on fire overnight in Waukesha County. 

The crash happened at 2:19 a.m. Wednesday on Ryan Road, north of Bayberry Drive in the Town of Lisbon. 

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office’s initial investigation, the car appeared to be traveling southbound on Ryan Road, left the roadway near the left curve of the road, continued straight, struck a large tree and started on fire. 

A Sheriff’s Deputy found the car fully engulfed in flames against a tree on the west side of the road when they arrived at the scene.

One person, yet to be identified, was found dead inside the car. The Sheriff’s Office says there is no evidence of anyone else being in the car.

The crash remains under investigation and no other information has been released at this time.
