President Donald Trump invited TODAY’S TMJ4’s Charles Benson and other members of local media outlets from around the country to a briefing ahead of his address to Congress this week.

The president is set to deliver his first speech to Congress Tuesday, but before he delivers the speech Trump will discuss his agenda with members of the media Monday.

Benson will attend the one-hour media briefing with local reporters from around the country, which is being called “An opportunity for the president to discuss his joint address to Congress.”

Trump will not be delivering an official State of the Union Tuesday, but the speech will have a similar look. The president is expected to lay out his agenda for the country in his first presidential speech before Congress, hitting on campaign themes such as cutting taxes, controlling immigration, regulatory reforms, and repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Florida Gov. Rick Scott had lunch with Trump Saturday and talked about how their states can play a critical role in forthcoming healthcare reform.

House Speaker Paul Ryan from Janesville is expected to play a pivotal role in getting Trump’s agenda through the Republican Controlled House and Senate, but Democrats are promising a fight.

You can watch Benson’s live reports Monday on TODAY’S TMJ4, and check back online at www.tmj4.com for updates.
