MILWAUKEE — TODAY'S TMJ4 launched a new weather camera this week in Milwaukee's Bronzeville neighborhood.

The Martin Luther King Drive camera sits on top of a historic building now called Historic King Place, even landing a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The building, built in 1930, now houses Gee's Clippers. Long before that, it was Home Savings Bank.

The property manager said the building was renovated in the early 1990s. The top floors were turned into section 42 apartments.

"With these large high rises and just multi-unit buildings, it's good to be able to put a bunch of people who need housing into a building like this, but additionally, it's good to see that a lot of these structures aren't going to waste," said Julian Dowdy.

Now even the roof is getting a new purpose.
