MILWAUKEE — An "absurd" idea has now turned into a tradition for a Milwaukee brewery.

Lakefront Brewery is continuing its tradition of offering free weddings on Valentine's Day. Ordained brewery tour guides will prepare a "lovely, quaint, yet professional" ceremony for those interested. This is the fifth year the brewery has offered the ceremonies. Brewery President Russ Klisch will be be presiding over mass vow renewals at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

These ceremonies are free, but for those who want to upgrade, the brewery offers several packages:

  • The Pint Package ($50): Married by a practiced, ordained tour guide with a beer in hand that comes with a personally etched pint glass with your names and date. A dessert from the brewery kitchen and an exclusive t-shirt from the gift shop comes included.
  • The Pitcher Package ($150): Married by a practiced, ordained tour guide with a beer in hand that comes with a personally etched pint glass with your names and date. A dessert from the brewery kitchen and your choice of cheese curds or soft pretzels. The bride will get a unique flower bouquet and a boutonniere for the groom will be provided, as well as two exclusive wedding t-shirts.
  • The Growler Package ($350): Married by a practiced, ordained tour guide with a beer in hand that comes with a personally etched pint glass with your names and date. A dessert from the brewery kitchen and your choice of cheese curds or soft pretzels. The bride will get a unique flower bouquet and a boutonniere for the groom will be provided, as well as two exclusive wedding t-shirts. A professional photographer will also come included with this package.

“People go on their first date here, have their wedding reception, get engaged on our brewery tour, and take their engagement or wedding photos. We just feel the love that can emanate from this place, so we want to celebrate it”, says Tour Manager, Sam Szymborski in a press release. “There isn’t a better day to do it.”

While ceremonies should be booked in advance, those interested in the mass vow renewals may show up ahead of the scheduled 12 p.m. or 6 p.m. time slots and let an employee know.
