SHOREWOOD — The Shorewood Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles after three cars were stolen in the span of two days.

A 2017 Hyundai Elantra, a 2016 Kia Optima, and a 2007 Honda Civic were stolen over the weekend. Broken glass was found at the scene of the stolen Kia, and a spare key was in the Honda Civic when it was stolen.

Now, the police department is reminding everyone to not only lock their cars but remove spare keys from inside.

For those who own newer model Kia and Hyundai vehicles, these may be specifically being targeted as part of an ongoing rash of thefts of these types of vehicles in the Milwaukee area, the Shorewood police said in a statement Sunday.

If you see anything suspicious or know anything about the stolen vehicles, report it to the Shorewood Police Department at 414-847-2610.
