SHEBOYGAN — Sheboygan police arrested three Milwaukee men Tuesday in connection with multiple vehicle entries and thefts, according to the Sheboygan Police Department.

At 2:45 a.m. an off-duty Sheboygan police officer reported witnessing people breaking into vehicles on the city's northwest side. The officer reported a description of the vehicle and license plate number.

A half hour later, officers located the vehicle at Meijer gas station. All three men were in the vehicle and are 18-years-old. Items in the vehicle were consistent with thefts from vehicles, and the men admitted they had come to Sheboygan overnight to steal from vehicles, according to police.

Dozens of items are being inventoried. Officers have concluded that thefts have occurred across the city, not just in a few neighborhoods. Police will be contacting the owners of identifiable property. Not all items can be identified, nor whose property they are, so police are encouraging citizens who have been the victims of theft from their vehicle to call the police department at 920-459-3333.

All three men were referred to the district attorney's office for charges of theft and attempted theft, and were taken to the Sheboygan County Detention Center in lieu of bond, according to police.
