Before you throw down thousands of dollars on a new car, or several hundred bucks on a new cell, let's talk about how you can save money.

Matt Granite has some consumer guidance. He’s a show host on Amazon, and a YouTube deal guy who has studied sales trends for decades.

Best time to buy a car?

“Cars are constantly being discounted locally, and that's over the course of the year where there is a long holiday shopping weekend. We've got 4th of July, we've got Labor Day, those are days lots will always have deals leading into it so the 72 hours that proceed a long weekend and the 48 hours that follow it,” said Granite.

“A couple of other times where we see big reductions obviously after hail storms there are constantly hail reductions to get cars that have a couple of dings off lots. You're going to save a lot of money also, if you can get yourself to a car rental company. A lot of car rental companies will sell cars that are brand new, same year, at substantial discounts. Enterprise does a lot of that, so don't always assume that your dealership is going to be the way to go,” Granite continued.

Best time to buy an iPhone?

“Between August and October when Apple releases its new iPhone,” Granite said.

“The next, which is essentially the best time of year to buy a new iPhone is Black Friday,” said.

“You do not find the best iPhone deals at the Apple store. You find them on Black Friday from Walmart target and Best Buy,” Granite explained.

Best time to buy toys?

“At the end of July when people are not in school, students are generally at home with their parents, you'll see a few incentives tied to kid’s entertainment from folks like Amazon, Walmart and Target,” explained.

“The best price drops, hands down of the entire year are two to three weeks that proceed Christmas,” Granite said.
