MILWAUKEE — Unlike most restaurants, grocery, and hardware stores, when the pandemic hit Wisconsin the Waukesha Antique Mall had to close up shop until further notices.
"It was difficult because we decided that we were going to help the dealers out and not charge them rent. So we had no income coming in for two months," says Penny Olson, co-owner and manager.
With over 80 dealers and 100 booths, selling online wasn't realistic for the business. More importantly, it wasn't the experience Penny wanted her customers to have.
"The customers want to come in, they want to feel the item, they want to hold it and see if it's really good quality. So it's difficult to sell online from an antique store," says Penny.
Today, thankfully, the doors are back open and locals can begin hunting for those special treasures once again.
"You know it was kinda like a family reunion because a lot of customers have been coming here for years. We've been open nine years now. A lot of them were regulars and they were so happy to be back," says Penny.
Open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, you can pretty much find anything at the antique mall. From man's best friend to a little glitz and glam the Waukesha Antique Mall can help you add character to your everyday life.
