Milwaukee Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old girl inside her north side home Monday.

Melanie Johnson was found inside the home at 35th and Silver Spring Drive shortly before 6 p.m.

Police say shots were fired from outside the family home.  They are investigating if there was a car involved and if someone was targeting the teenager.

The victim's older sister, Kendra Haney, last saw her this afternoon.

"She was just full of life," Haney said. "No enemies, no feuds no nothing."

Haney said Johnson was on track to graduate from John Marshall High School early.

Police did not have any further updates on the investigation.

But Haney has her own plea.

"Put the guns down. Put the guns down, there's too many kids losing their life by nonsense violence. Put the guns down please," Haney said.
