Suspect wanted for shooting of Kenosha police officer arrested in Indiana

The man wanted in connection to the shooting of a Kenosha police officer has been arrested in Indiana.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice said Jonathan Massey, 29, was arrested in Gary, Indiana, Massey was wanted for the shooting of a Kenosha police officer on Aug. 8.

Kenosha police said the shooting happened in the 4600 block of Sheridan Road. Police said the officer was investigating an entry to vehicle complaint at the time he was shot. The officer returned fire and Massey fled the scene.

After being arrested on Aug. 11, Massey was found to have sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a Gary hospital and released, where he is currently waiting in jail, awaiting extradition.

The officer is in stable condition.
