WIND LAKE — A New Berlin company confirms the suspect and victim in a Racine County home break-in and murder worked together.

Brian Bautz, Owner and CEO of Engineered Security Solutions, Inc. wrote the following in a statement to TODAY'S TMJ4.

"We are devastated by this senseless tragedy and are praying for our colleague and his family. He was a friend, an outstanding performer, a trusted teammate and an all-around wonderful person. He will be greatly missed. We will do everything in our power to assist law enforcement with their investigation. In the meantime, we are working to support our colleagues as we all come to terms with this unimaginable loss."

Family members confirm 42-year-old Chad Bickler was shot and killed on Thursday night at his home in Wind Lake.

Police say Troy Hoffmann shot into his home multiple times. Relatives say one of those shots hit Chad and his dog, Tucker.

Hoffmann drove off before deputies arrived at the scene. Authorities say Hoffmann turned himself in Friday at the Village of Hustisford Police Department and was taken to the Dodge County Jail.

A GoFundMe has been setup for the victim to pay for the funeral and related expenses. Click here if you'd like to donate.
