Suspect hospitalized after 25-foot fall off I-94 in attempt to evade sheriff

A 24-year-old man was injured jumping 25 feet off I-94 in an attempt to evade sheriff’s deputies after a high-speed chase in Kenosha County Monday night.

According to a news release from the Kenosha County Sheriff,  a deputy tried to stop a Nissan 350Z, but the driver sped off after seeing the emergency lights, reaching 100 mph.

The driver lost control and crashed into the median wall, but got out of the car and jumped off the interstate down to Highway C/Wilmot Road, 25-feet below.

When the suspect hit the street below, a car had to swerve to avoid him.

The suspect was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life with severe injuries. Also, an 18-year-old passenger in the Nissan was taken to the hospital.

The suspect faces a number of charges, including an OWI (second offense), hit and run causing injury and felony fleeing.
