Sturgeon Bay police officer shot, injured by fellow officer

A Sturgeon Bay police officer fire has been hospitalized after he was shot by a fellow officer.

Police say officers were dealing with a domestic dispute between a father and son. Officers said the son had a knife and had to be wrestled to the ground.

During that time, an officer not involved in the arrest had his gun accidentally go off and hit another officer.

The Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation of the alleged misfire.
