SHEBOYGAN -- Strong storms triggered a Tornado Watch for all of southeast Wisconsin on Sunday, July 1.

The storms brought down trees in Cedarburg along Washington Avenue.

“All of a sudden we heard a crack,” said Scott Steinhardt. “I stayed inside. I wasn’t about to go out in that weather."

Several trees toppled in the downtown area and also in Sheboygan.

“The wind was so strong and it was driving the rain in sideways into the home,” said Elaine Jacks.

Clean up crews immediately started clearing the streets of branches and debris. At one point, WE energies reported nearly 30,000 customers lost power.
