MILWAUKEE — A stolen vehicle struck a building on Milwaukee's south side Friday, causing significant damage, police say.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, a District Attorney's Office investigator was following the stolen car for surveillance when it drove into a building at 10th and Mitchell on the city's south side.

"MPD was not involved in pursuing the suspect," according to a department spokesperson.

The Milwaukee Police Department did respond to the scene to assist investigators. Three suspects were arrested, while two got away, police say.

Policed closed a portion of Mitchell Street this afternoon while investigating.
