MILWAUKEE -- Several people were injured after a stolen van ran a red light and caused a chain reaction crash Saturday evening.

The crash happened at 4:45 p.m. at 51st Street and Villard Avenue.

Milwaukee police said the van was going west on Villard, went through the red light and hit an SUV going south. In turn, the SUV veered into the eastbound lane and hit a Milwaukee County Transit System bus.

Following the crash, officials said the five people in the stolen van ran from the scene.

The four people inside the SUV -- two women, a 14-year-old boy and a 2-month old girl -- suffered minor injuries. Two men on the MCTS bus also suffered minor injuries.

Milwaukee police said two of the girls in the stolen van were later located and arrested. They are both in their early teens. The other three occupants are still on the loose.

In regards to the stolen van, Milwaukee police said it was stolen a short time before the accident. They said the group took a woman's purse and her vehicle at the Walmart at 103rd Street and Silver Spring Drive.

Officials said the woman's purse and other evidence was found inside the van.
