MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is lowering the speed limit on I-94 between County G in Racine and WIS 142 in Kenosha County on Wednesday.

The speed will be lowered from 70 mph to 60 mph and will only impact southbound traffic.

Northbound I-94 will remain at 70 mph until the construction project is switched over to add capacity to the northbound lanes. This could begin as early as June, according to a news release.

There will also be an increase of barrier wall along the southern portion of the work zone. For more information on this construction project, click here.
