Weekend winter storm will (finally) bring accumulating snow to Southeastern Wisconsin

Well, we knew we couldn't avoid it for long. A snow storm is expected to bring a measurable amount of the frozen precipitation to Southeast Wisconsin Friday.

A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect Friday evening into Saturday morning for Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties.

Meteorologists expect 2-5 in. of snow to settle into the area between Friday night and Saturday evening.

Temperatures will range from the low to mid-30s on Saturday.

Highs for Sunday and Monday are in the teens.

Here is the storm timeline:

Friday 6pm-12am: 1-2” NE 10-20 mph

Sat 12am-6am: 2-3” NE 15-25 mph

Sat 6am-12pm: 1” NE 15-30 mph

Sat 12pm-6am: Less than 1” NE 15-30 mph

Afternoon will see blowing snow and spotty lake effect

Total Accumulation for Milwaukee: Near 6” 2-3” northern counties 6-8” near state line
