MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee area is expected to receive 2 to 4 inches of snow early Wednesday morning into the early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Jefferson and Waukesha counties from 3 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Everyone's favorite wet, slushy snow will be the heaviest during the morning commute Wednesday, and will transition to a rain-snow mix by Wednesday afternoon as temperatures rise.

Roads will be slippery during the morning and afternoon commutes. NWS cautions drivers to slow down when traveling.

The high temperature for Wednesday is just above freezing at 37 degrees.
