The person responsible for a pony stampede that injured three people during an Elm Grove Memorial Day parade has been issued a citation.
According to a Facebook post from the Elm Grove Police Department, a 66-year-old Shorewood woman directed her horses and carriage into the parade route against the flow of traffic and eventually lost control of her horses.
The horses kicked the carriage and were injured and agitated. The ponies ran off and hit several people watching the parade.
The woman has been cited for failing to obey a traffic officer’s orders.
