Shorewood schools raise over $8,500 for Stars and Stripes Honor Flight

The combined efforts of Atwater Elementary, Lake Bluff Elementary and Shorewood Intermediate raised over $8,500 for Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.

This isn't the first year the schools in Shorewood have combined efforts for Stars and Stripes. Over the past nine years, schools have combined for more than $54,500 for the organization.

Stars and Strips Honor Flight is an organization that gives veterans the opportunity to fly to Washington D.C. and visit their memorial. Shorewood is responsible for sending 109 veterans to Washington D.C.
