Shooting leads to serious crash in Kenosha

KENOSHA -- A shooting in Kenosha ended in a serious car crash Monday night after a man who was shot in the leg tried to drive himself to the hospital.

The 38-year-old victim was shot near 47th Street and 37th Avenue.

According to police, both he and a witness got in an SUV to drive to the hospital - with the wounded man behind the wheel.

Police said the shooting victim then blew a stop sign, and ended up hitting two other people and a tree around 7:30 p.m. near 65th Street and Sheridan Road.

Nobody involved in the crash was seriously hurt.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

The events that led to the shooting are unknown at this time.
