Shooting leaves 30 -year-old woman dead in Milwaukee

Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead.

Milwaukee police said the shooting happened around 4:55 a.m. on Aug. 20 on the 3200 block of N. 27th St.

Police say a 30-year-old Milwaukee woman was shot and despite life-saving efforts, died due to her injuries.

Residents who live in the area said they heard multiple gunshots just before 5:00 a.m. Maxcine Malone, who lives next door to where the shooting took place said
she didn't know who the woman was but their heart breaks for her.

"It’s sad really sad everything that’s happened," said Malone.

Reuben Anderson a member with the NAACP is calling on local leaders to address the crime across the City.

"They spend too much time debating policies when the real problem is out here and it’s a little concerning another queen has lost her life," said Anderson.

Police are investigating circumstances surrounding this homicide.
