MILWAUKEE – Shocking surveillance video of armed suspects breaking into a home on Milwaukee’s south side over the weekend is catching attention all over social media.

It happened Saturday around 10:20 p.m. at a home near St. Luke’s Hospital.

The robbery involved three men who come into the backyard of the home, triggering floodlights on their way to the back door.

The surveillance video shows one of the men with a gun,  motions for the other to kick in the door -- and after a few attempts the suspect kicks the door in and all three men go inside the home.

"I was sitting on my bed for a few minutes and all of a sudden I heard the noise," A mother in the home said. "I thought it was my son playing with his basketball in the house."

Meanwhile, inside, a young man is seen running away and just seconds later, the three armed men come in right behind him. He sprinted upstairs to alert his mother.

"He runs up the stairs and is yelling, Mom, Mom, someone is trying to break in the house," the unnamed woman said. "I was like, call the police because I couldn't get my phone open because my hands were shaking so bad. He told me after, Mom, I just wanted to make sure you were ok. He's a mama's boy. He wanted to make sure I was OK."

The three men rush around the first floor, opening doors and looking for items, guns in hand. They grabbed some electronics and ran from the home.  All in all, they were in and out in about a minute but the family is grateful it wasn't more serious.

"We looked at the cameras and it was so close for them to make it up the stairway," the woman said. "They were looking but something made them turn around and I'm glad they did. Material things are nothing to me. As long as we're safe, it's good."

Milwaukee police say the Detective Bureau has taken over the investigation and they don't have any further information on the suspects at this time.
