SHEBOYGAN -- Some police officers in Wisconsin are looking a little scruffy. The Sheboygan Police Department has waived the department's grooming policy for No-Shave November.

Officers are putting away their razors to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sheboygan County.

"There's a lot of charities out there, but as police officers we see the how one on one mentoring helps to build self esteem," said Detective Eric Edson with the Sheboygan Police Department."It builds confidence and makes kids a better person."

The department usually has a strict policy that doesn't allow any fuzz.

"What we do is approach the officers and give them the opportunity to pay $25.00 for a goatee or $50.00 for a beard, and they can put the uniform policy aside for the month of November," said Edson.

Participating officers have currently raised more than $2,000.00.
