SHEBOYGAN — A 47-year-old man is dead after being shot by family member during a "dispute" at a Sheboygan home on Easter Sunday.

It happened just before 3:30 p.m. at a home on 28th St. near Geele Ave.

Sheboygan Police say there were called to the home for a disturbance involving a gun shot.  When officers arrived at the home, they found the 47-year-old man with a gunshot to the upper thigh -- being held down by a 46-year-old male family member. The victim was transported to a Sheboygan hospital where he later died.

Police say the information known at this time is that the 47-year-old man went to the home -- armed with a handgun -- and threatened the 46-year-old family member inside the house.

The two struggled over the gun -- and that's when the 47-year-old man was shot in the leg.

No other family members were injured.

Police say their investigation is ongoing -- and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday. Once their investigation is completed, it will be forwarded to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for review.

No other information has been released at this time.
