MADISON — Around 12:30 a.m., a Madison family was woken up by a burglar at the front door. Luckily for them, their security camera allowed them to hide and call police.

According to our partners at WISC-TV, the alleged intruder, 44-year-old Dean R. Schuetze, was seen on camera entering the home.

Immediately, the couple called the police, grabbed their two children and hid inside a bedroom with visiting grandparents.

Officers arrived with a K-9 and entered the home after announcing their presence. Once inside, they realized Schuetze was drunk.

A fight commenced between the officers and the 44-year-old, leaving minor injuries to the three officers.

Schuetze was arrested on tentative charges of criminal trespass to dwelling, disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing officers.
