A Rastafarian church in Madison was issued a search warrant as part of a drug investigation, according to our sister station WISC-TV.
Lion of Judah, House of Rastafari is a cannabis sanctuary that allows its members to use marijuana as part of their religious practice. Founders say the First Amendment, as well as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act protect them from being legally punished for using the drug.
The Madison City Attorney's Office says there is no documentation to support that Lion of Judah is in fact a church.
Several people have been detained in relation to the warrant, according to police.
