Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension officials executed a search warrant Saturday morning at an Austin, Minnesota, hotel it is believed Dariaz Higgins stayed at within the last week.

Higgins, 34, is facing first-degree homicide charges for the death of his child's mother, 24-year-old Sierra Robinson.

Higgins and his 2-year-old daughter Noelani were the subject of an AMBER Alert issued March 11 in Milwaukee, where police believe Higgins shot Sierra.

Noelani was found dead Friday evening in Steele County, Minnesota. Police say she was wrapped in a blanket in a ditch a mile north of Blooming Prairie.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head. Officials say it appeared Noelani had been there for "a number of days."

Bail was set at $1 million for Higgins on Sunday in Milwaukee.

As of yet, there are no charges for Noelani's death.

BCA says that when, where and who killed the toddler will be determined during its investigation.
