MILWAUKEE — Authorities have found the body of a man who disappeared into Lake Michigan while going for a swim near the Summerfest grounds Tuesday evening.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says it responded to a recovery of an adult man from the lagoon at Lakeshore State Park. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. Online records identified the victim as a 32-year-old man.
Earlier on Wednesday, TMJ4 crews were on scene when they heard officials tell people gathered near the water's edge that crews found someone in the water.
Several people jumped into the water for a swim around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday. One person struggled and then disappeared, Milwaukee police said.
Multiple emergency boats were out on the water Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.
