MILWAUKEE -- There is a new scam going around Milwaukee.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the suspect is calling from the number (631) 827-1544 and tells the person on the line that they are holding a member of their family hostage.
Then the suspect demands that money be wired in exchange for the release of the family member.
Officials said they investigated each incident and found the claims to be false.
