House Speaker Paul Ryan still supports Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee, but that doesn't mean they see eye to eye.

TODAY'S TMJ4'S Charles Benson talked with Speaker Ryan and NBC's Chuck Todd about the rough road ahead for Ryan.

Ryan finds himself almost daily defending his decision to support Trump, and pointing out areas where he disagrees with Trump. This week Ryan once again rejected Trump's Muslim ban, but Ryan says he's not going to rescind his endorsement.

Benson: Do you ever stay up late at night second guessing yourself about the endorsement?
Ryan: I'm not a big second guesser. I feel I have institutional responsibilities. The last thing I want to do is lead our party to cutting ourselves in half to have a schism that basically all but guarantees Hillary Clinton walks into the White House and we have another democratic presidency.

Benson to Chuck Todd: Give me a sense is Ryan in the worst no win situation in politics
Todd: I think he is. Well maybe Reince Priebus, the Chairman of the RNC, may be in a worse position in American politics than Ryan,

Ryan said he's doing this as Speaker of the House, as Speaker Paul Ryan, this endorsement.

Then I asked, well does that mean Congressman Ryan, the olds Ways and Means Chairman, wouldn't have endorsed Trump? He said "I'm not getting into hypotheticals."
