Pick 'n Save the planet!
Local Pick 'n Save and Metro Markets are encouraging customers to bring in used clean, dry and empty plastic bags recycle in containers near the front of the stores' entrances.
The green effort is a part of Kroger's Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Initiative. The stores hope to phase out single-use plastic bags by 2025.
In the meantime, customers can purchase limited-time reusable bags. For each bag purchased, 25 cents will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
