MADISON, Wis. - Co-founder of Rocky Rococo Pizza died at 70-years-old in his home on Tuesday.
TODAY'S TMJ4's sister station,WISC-TV in Madison reports that co-founder of the Madison-based pizzeria, Wayne Mosley, started the restaurant over four decades ago with former college friend Roger Brown.
According to Brown, it was Mosley's dream to open a chain of pizzerias offering pizza by the slice.
The first Rocky's opened in Madison in 1974. Since then, the company has expanded to more than 120 restaurants across the United States.
Mosley and Brown sold their rights to the company in 1988, but Mosley continued to operate Rocky Rococo restaurants in Madison, La Crosse and the Wisconsin Dells.
"Wayne will be remembered for his off-the-wall ad campaigns, deep devotion to the brand and affection for his customers," Brown told WISC-TV.
