WHITEWATER -- Several people have been displaced after a multi?unit apartment complex fire in Whitewater.
The fire broke out Wednesday night at the University Garden Apartments, 370 N Tratt Street, near UW-Whitewater.
The Whitewater Fire Department said there were residents trapped, but they have been safely removed without injuries.
Officials said the fire has been contained and the entire apartment complex will be closed until further notice.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
