Summerfest has announced that the Red Hot Chili Peppers and P!nk will headline this year's Big Gig.

It's been more than a decade since both artists played at the festival, that's why it's so special that Summerfest is welcoming them back for the 50th anniversary.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will kick-off the 2016 festival season with a performance at the Marcus Amphitheater on Wednesday, June 28 (opening night). P!nk will take the stage on Sunday, July 2.

"It's going to be a very exciting time for our community," said Don Smiley, the President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. "It'll be a community-wide celebration."

Tickets for P!nk go on sale Friday, November 18 at 10:00 a.m., while tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers go on sale Friday, November 18 at 12:00 p.m. Both include admission to Summerfest.
