The American Red Cross continues to face a critical blood shortage after announcing the need in early July.
But after receiving a generous donation, the Red Cross is planning to thank donors with a $5 Amazon gift card from July 29-August 29.
Blood donors help patients of all ages on a daily basis. That includes accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, or those battling cancer.
A person is in need of blood every two seconds in the U.S., according to the American Red Cross.
People can schedule an appointment to give now by activating Amazon’s Alexa Red Cross Blood Skill by saying, “Alexa, find a blood drive,” by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting their website, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
