Recent rains cause for deep tunnel dump

Milwaukee -- Recent rains are cause for Milwaukee Metro Sewage District to pump out as much water as possible.

According to District 1 spokesperson Bill Graffin, there is more than 300 million gallons of sewage in the main deep tunnel which is 70 percent full. 

He also notes water is entering the main deep tunnel at about 30 million gallons an hour.  

MMSD is trying to pump as quickly as possible.  Graffin saying "...only so much water can be treated each day."
