MILWAUKEE — Lakefront Brewery has deemed their new beer a Kettle Sour with Cherries called My Turn™ Junk to be "too volatile" and have "a risk of explosion." The Milwaukee brewery is asking anyone with bottles of the beer to refrigerate them or carefully dispose.

The beer contains small amounts of wild yeast from the cherries that continues to ferment in warm beer. Fermentation can cause a buildup of carbon dioxide and put them at risk of exploding. Refrigeration can prevent the fermentation.

The beer is completely safe to drink.

There haven't been any injuries or customer complaints, but a few bottles have exploded and the company is voluntarily recalling all bottles as a safety procedure.

“Please take a photograph of the bottle’s back label, send it to support@lakefrontbrewery.com, along with your address, by October 1stand we will send out a check to compensate affected customers,” Lakefront Brand Manager, Michael Stodola, said.
